Retro Cartoons and TV Shows: Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers (Chip and Dale to the rescue in Latin America and Chip and Chop: Rescue Guardians in Spain) is an American animated series produced by The Walt Disney Company and created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove.

The series premiered on the Disney Channel on March 4, 1989. Technically with a 2-hour-long movie, Rescue Rangers: To the Rescue that later split into five parts airing as the opening of the second season. The last episode aired on November 19, 1990.

There were finally reruns until 1993 on Disney Afternoon.

Plot
Chip and Dale, two squirrels with a nose for trouble open a detective agency, "Rescue Rangers", along with their new friends Gadget, Monterey Jack and Zipper. The group decides to solve cases and crimes offered by their clients (usually anthropomorphic animals) which the police find the cases too small to handle.

Detectives very often have to deal with their two private arch-enemies, Fat Cat and the mad scientist Norton Nimnul.

Heroes
Chip (Chip) is the leader of the Rescue Rangers. Slightly modeled after Indiana Jones, Chip wears a fedora and a bomber jacket. He tends to be serious and has a great sense of responsibility to such an extent that others accuse him of not knowing how to do anything fun. Voice of Tress MacNeille in English and Roko Takizawa in Japanese.

Dale (Chop) is the opposite side of Chip, wearing a Hawaiian t-shirt identical to the one Thomas Magnum wears in Magnum PI. Although part of his work is a joke lover, sometimes he is a bit irresponsible and forgets to think before acting. He spends his free time reading comics and playing video games. He is addicted to chocolates and they give him some attacks like Monterey Jack with cheese. Voice of Corey Burton in English and Minoru Inaba in Japanese.
Monterey Jack or Monty for his friends is an Australian mouse lover of adventure who spends years traveling the world after taking advantage of his stay with Chip and Dale. After his house was destroyed by Fat Cat, Monty decides to join the Rescue Rangers alongside Zipper. Monty has a strong addiction to cheese, as soon as he smells it he goes into torpor as if hypnotized heading towards him. Voice of Jim Cummings in English and Eken Mine in Japanese.
Gadget Hackwrench or Gady is a young female rat and team pilot, mechanic, and inventor. She is the daughter of the late inventor and aviator Geegaw Hackwrench, who was a friend of Monterey Jack, met Chip and Dale when they sent Geegaw to search for an airplane. After the loss of his father and asking for help he joins the group. Voice of Tress MacNeille in English and Naoko Matsui in Japanese.
Zipper is a little green fly and a friend of Monterey and Gadget. With his small size and flying skills he lends a hand in small jobs to the rest of the group. He speaks intelligibly by buzzing and only Monty and other insects seem to understand him. Corey Burton voice.

Villains

Mala Cara is a gray tabby cat feline and one of the main antagonists of Rescue Rangers. Previously owned by criminal Aldrin Klordane, Mala Cara became an independent agent and animal boss for the global crime organization after his owner's imprisonment. Frequently he is accompanied by four henchmen, who share a stupidity, Mala Cara always sends them to do the dirty work for him. He's too smart (or lazy) to get his "paws" dirty. Wart, a lizard, which he wears in a gangster-style suit and a hat similar to that of his boss. Jim Cummings voice.
Mole, He is a mole of somewhat slow reaction and a little overweight, when plans go wrong, Mole is one of whom uses Fat Cat as if it were a punching bag. Corey Burton voice.
Mepps, it's a yellow wild cat. Voice of Peter Cullen.
Snout, a rat, is rarely seen. Corey Burton voice.
Professor Norton Nimnul, another of the enemies of the Rescue Rangers, is human and a mad scientist who once worked for Aldrin Klordane. Although Nimnul is intelligent and creative, his plans lack logic. For example, kidnapping all the cats in the city to create a lot of static electricity, in the pilot episode he built a laser cannon to create a gigantic jelly mold and cause an earthquake underneath the United States gold reserve, he is redhead and wears glasses. Lahwhinie, She bears a strong physical resemblance to Hackwrench Gadget differing in fashion style.
