Charlie's Angels

Charlie's Angels is an American television series broadcast on ABC between 1976 and 1981. The series recounts the adventures of three women (the "angels") who left the Police Force to work in a Detective agency owned by Charles Townsend (Charlie).

The opening argument was summed up in the words spoken by private detective Charlie Townsend, with which each chapter began: “There were once three little girls who went to the police academy. They were assigned very dangerous missions. But I took them away from all that and now they work for me. My name is Charlie. The successive episodes revolved around a mission assigned by Charlie to his three detectives. The missions, often risky (robberies, murders, kidnappings ...), were solved with the angels interpreting characters that allowed them to maintain their anonymity and investigate the case incognito, interacting with the suspects.

The character of Charlie, whose face never appeared on screen throughout the five seasons, was voiced by actor John Forsythe.

The original three angels were Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson), Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett) and Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith).

In successive seasons when one of the angels left the series (because the actress who played it embarked on new projects) a new "angel" came to replace her. Thus, in the second season would come Kris Munroe (Cheryl Ladd), in the fourth Tiffany Welles (Shelley Hack) and in the fifth Julie Rogers (Tanya Roberts). The only angel to remain throughout the series was Kelly, alongside Charlie's assistant Bosley, played by David Doyle.

The series, from its first season, became a true media phenomenon and its three leading actresses were catapulted to fame.

Over time, the series has become an icon of pop culture, a cult series, and the image of the actresses has been reproduced in all kinds of marketing, magazines, comics ...
