He-Man and The Masters of The Universe, known as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in Latin America and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in Spain, was a series of cartoons from the early 80s.
It happened on the fictional planet Eternia, where He-Man, the most powerful man in the Universe, fought against the villain Skeletor to protect the secrets of the fortress known as Grayskull Castle.
The protagonist could be inspired by two mythical characters: Hercules, from Greek mythology, and Samson, from the Bible; especially due to the physical strength and powers that both possessed to defend and fight in favor of their people.
He-Man was primarily aimed at the male child audience of 3 to 10-year-olds, although its popularity also extended to the female audience and to people of all ages, including adolescents and adults.

At the end of the 80s, the series was broadcast frequently, although no longer with the popularity of its beginnings, because Thundercats had basically replaced it in its theme, obtaining equal or greater success.
He-Man's true identity is that of Prince Adam, son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, kings of Eternia. Queen Marlena is of Earthling origin, so Adam is half human. Eternia is a planet similar to Earth, which has its own life such as oceans, flora and fauna, in addition to its own sun and natural satellite. The planet was populated by different creatures from other galaxies, including Earthlings.
In the new version, the Sorceress of the Grayskull castle endowed Adam with the power to become He-Man if he wielded his magic sword and said: "By the power of Grayskull ... I have the power!". This latest version is the best known in history.

Grayskull Castle, which alludes to a giant skull, is the source of Grayskull's Power. Sorceress lives inside the castle, who communicates telepathically with He-Man and who becomes a hawk when he is outside the castle, and was also responsible for offering Adam his new abilities. Sorceress is also the mother of Teela, who tried to kidnap her when she was a baby and was saved by Duncan who became her adoptive father.

Adam has a twin sister named Adora, in theory Princess of Eternia, but who leads the Great Rebellion against Hordak on the planet Etheria (not to be confused with Eternia). Adora, like Adam, has been endowed with the power of Grayskull, and can become She-Ra, the Princess of Power. He-Man occasionally appeared in She-Ra, the television series.
