Ambassador Magma

Ambassador Magma (マ グ マ 大使, Maguma Taishi) original title of this television series that in the United States was known as Space Giants and in Latin America as Goldar or Space Monsters. It was a series with a history in the manga and the Japanese tokusatsu. It was created by the famous mangaka Osamu Tezuka.

The television series was produced by P. Productions, and aired on the Fuji Television network from July 4, 1966 to September 25, 1967, comprising a total of 52 episodes. It was the first tokusatsu television series to be broadcast in color in anticipation of Ultraman for six days. In Latin America the transmission ran from 1970 to 1972.

The alien invader Goa (Rodak) plans to conquer Earth. He first warns the Murakami family (father Atsushi, mother Tomoko and son Mamoru) of their plans, and demonstrates their powers by transporting them to a prehistoric jungle where he destroys before his eyes a gigantic dinosaur (in fact, he is the official monster of the Japanese television series with a profile very similar to Godzilla).

But they do not accept surrender and their hopes take shape in Magma (Goldar) a gigantic "robot" of golden color with long hair with antennas and well equipped. He and his wife Mol (human-looking) both created by Earth magician, (Methusa, who of course lives on earth) are sent to defend the world from Rodak's threats. They establish friendship with Atsushi and Mamoru.

Goldar and the monsters from spaceThis encounter awakens Magma's desire to have a child with Mol, so the magician gives them a son who becomes a replica of Mamoru and who is named Gam (who wears a helmet with antennas). Likewise, the magician gives Mamoru a whistle which, when blown once, can call Gam, twice Mol and three times Goldar at any critical moment. Thus when Goa releases one of its several daikaiju, sometimes Magma, Mol, Gam appear flying ready to the rescue.

Goldar and the monsters from spaceAmbassador Magma, despite his robot appearance, is not a robot, but rather a living giant forged in gold. In fact, within his pilot appearance in the manga series, the actor who characterized Magma (Goldar) (Tetsuya Uozomi) wore gold makeup on his face, so he had several difficulties with his characterization, sometimes losing part of his makeup. . The solution was implemented by using a human-looking gold mask.

Magma, like his "human" wife Mol and Gam, transformed into a giant golden rocket ship. Setting an antecedent in the series of transformable "robots".

It also fires rockets or missiles located at a panel located on its chest, and fires lasers from its antennas.
